Aromas and flavors both layered nicely, but leaning to the leather, smokey bacon, earth, spice, and wood side, rather than fruit-forwardness of C.G. Di Arie's Amador County version of the '05 Syrah. Overall impression is of a handsomely mature Syrah coming from a fine French oak domicile.
