Hervé LALAU is the secretary General of FIJEV (Fédération Internationale des Journalistes et Ecrivains du Vin/International Wine Journalists & Writers Federation). He has been writing about wine since 1987, first in Belgian and French media (Distribution d'Aujourd'hui, Gondola, In Vino Veritas), then in international ones (Vitisphere, Wijnplein, Flying Wine Writer, Wine Business International). He writes in French and English. He also speaks Spanish and Dutch. He also participates as a jury member in international wine competitions (Saint Bacchus, Banco d'Assagio, Concours Mondial, Mondus Vini...). He is a member of the Circle of Wine Writers (UK) and Association de la Presse du Vin (France).

Hervé supports the "appellation-ization"of America: "If an idea is really good, it is good everywhere".
